MAGNITUDE 3.6 QUAKE STRIKES NEAR PETROLIA IN COASTAL CALIF.
A magnitude 3.6 earthquake rattled the area west of Petrolia in Kern County at 6:24 p.m. Tuesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake was centered roughly 26 kilometers west of the town at a depth of 19 kilometers.
