MAGNITUDE 2.7 QUAKE STRIKES NEAR PETROLIA IN REMOTE CALIF. COAST

A magnitude 2.7 earthquake rattled an area roughly 60 kilometers west of Petrolia early Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake struck at 7:59 a.m. PT with a shallow depth of just 1 kilometer.
