MAGNITUDE 2.9 QUAKE HITS NEAR LA QUINTA EARLY SATURDAY
A magnitude 2.9 earthquake struck 22 kilometers south-southwest of La Quinta at 4:04 a.m. Saturday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake was centered about 10 kilometers below the surface.
