MAGNITUDE 2.9 QUAKE SHAKES LA QUINTA AREA EARLY SATURDAY
A magnitude 2.9 earthquake struck 22 kilometers south-southwest of La Quinta early Saturday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake hit at 4:04 a.m. PT and was centered about 10 kilometers below the surface.
