MAGNITUDE 2.8 EARTHQUAKE STRIKES NEAR COVELO IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA

A magnitude 2.8 earthquake hit 31 kilometers north-northwest of Covelo in Mendocino County Tuesday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake struck at 4:27 p.m. at a depth of 7 kilometers.
