INLAND EMPIRE PD DEPLOYS 'GRAPPLER' DEVICE IN ACTIVE PURSUIT

An Inland Empire police department is using the Grappler, a mechanical tire-deflation device, for the first time in California during an active vehicle pursuit, according to KTLA. The department has become the first municipal agency in the state to deploy the system operationally.

The Grappler is designed to immobilize fleeing vehicles by ensnaring their tires, reducing the need for high-speed chases that risk public safety. Details on the pursuit's location, the suspect vehicle, or current status remain limited at this hour.
