What's the Charge?

Linton is charged with murder in connection with the August 2022 crash at La Brea Avenue and Slauson Avenue in Windsor Hills. Prosecutors allege Linton was driving recklessly at triple-digit speeds when the car tore through a red light and slammed into other vehicles. Six people were killed. What Happened in Court

Jurors sat through the video evidence as the trial opened this week, with reporters inside the courtroom describing the footage as shocking even by the standards of a murder case. The Los Angeles Times, ABC7, and KTLA are all covering the proceedings live. Beyond the video, specific witness testimony and opening arguments are still being reported out, so the full picture of what was presented day one is still coming together.

Why This Case Matters to L.A.

The Windsor Hills crash shook the whole region when it happened. Bystander video went viral almost immediately, and the loss of six lives at a busy South L.A. intersection made it one of the most horrifying traffic incidents the city has seen in years. Now, with the trial in full swing and that footage playing for a jury, expect search interest in Linton's name to stay high. We'll be updating as the proceedings continue.
