A magnitude 3.3 earthquake rattled the area 10 kilometers east-northeast of Coso Junction this morning at 10:26 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake struck at a shallow depth of 3 kilometers.

Two people reported feeling the temblor. No immediate reports of damage have been made at this time. The area near Coso Junction in Inyo County is home to significant geothermal activity and lies within a seismically active region.
