A magnitude 3.2 earthquake hit 6 kilometers northwest of The Geysers in Sonoma County early Tuesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor struck at 3:30 a.m. PT and was centered about 3 kilometers beneath the surface.

Seven people reported feeling the quake, according to USGS preliminary data. The Geysers area, home to the world's largest geothermal power plant, sits in a seismically active region where small-to-moderate quakes are not uncommon.
