A brush fire is ripping through the Sonoma Coast, forcing evacuations near Salt Point State Park and shutting down a stretch of Highway 1. CAL FIRE and early local reports are calling it the Woodside Fire. It's burning near Timber Cove, a stretch of coastline Sonoma County residents and weekend day-trippers know well.

CBS News and ABC7 Bay Area are both reporting evacuations are underway. CAL FIRE has confirmed the Highway 1 closure. Exact zone boundaries haven't been fully spelled out yet, so if you're headed to or from the coast on that corridor: the road is shut. Find another way, now.
